I am telling you, this little man is one of the most beautiful baby boys I have ever seen! His dimples and amazing eyelashes had me in fits! I am so happy for you, Libby and Wyatt! God has been so good to you!

God gave me the honor of capturing the wedding day of Rebecca and Nick. It was held at Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock. The whole day was filled with the grace of God. You could really tell that He was smiling down in favor on this sacred day. They did something during the ceremony that was just precious. A marriage covenant was signed by not only the bride and groom, but by Rebecca and Nick’s parents as well.
One of my favorite moments of the day was right before the ceremony. Rebecca’s family and friends surrounded her in the bridal room and bathed that girl in prayer. In one sentence, the word “holy” was used, and Rebecca’s face lit up with the biggest smile at that moment. It was priceless. Having her very soon-to-be mother in law on one side and her mother on the other during the prayer…all arms intertwined, well, it was just amazing.
I hope you enjoy seeing their big day through my lens. I know you will see the reflection of God’s joy in this couple!

This is their “first look” moment. They were filled with such joy and tears. I took a few shots and then gave them some time to be alone and treasure what God was about to do.

Rebecca and Nick got married yesterday which means I finally get to show you how amazing Rebecca looks in all her bridal glory! One of the hardest things about being a photographer is sitting on bridal portraits for months without getting to show them off! It is like hiding a Christmas present from someone for what seems like forever.
I love Rebecca’s style of classic and vintage. Wait until you see their wedding shots! I am editing like mad, but I thought you would want a sneak peek at her dress! At the end of our session, God totally smiled down on us and gave us the best light to work with. It was almost as if a spotlight were put on Rebecca! They are towards the end and probably my faves! Which pics do you like best?

The shot below with the amazing red velvet chair became her 20×24 bridal portrait that she put on display at the reception. It added a fun layer to the vintage feel of the evening.

Hello Beautiful!!!

I am pretty sure this next shot is my absolute favorite. I love the way the light totally makes her pop off the page. I also love the juxtaposition of her purity and glory against a backdrop of harsh and tangled branches.

I’ll get the wedding to you very soon!

When Eric and I got engaged 13 and a half years ago, we had a friend take a few engagement shots in the backyard. It seemed to work well enough to print in the papers and we were truly thankful that she offered her services for free.
But, after I started doing more and more engagement sessions, I realized how much I have missed having a “true” engagement session…complete with wardrobe and location. 13 years later, Eric obliged me and we called Todd Owens.
I knew I wanted a vintage feel, so we chose a peach orchard and Todd borrowed an amazing vintage bike. (A bike that I totally want!) The wardrobe was a bit trickier. I wanted a vintage feel to it, but I knew if I tried to put suspenders on Eric, he would never look at me the same again. So, we went with clothes that we would wear in public, but added to the old-school look. I love how the overall feel turned out!
Being in front of the camera instead of behind it was a challenge. As a photographer, you seem to forget what it feels like to be the one on display. For those like me that don’t pose naturally, it can be awkward and intimidating. I was reminded that clients need assurance and help with posing. Todd does a great job with this.
It took a second for us to get the hang of things and kind of forget that Todd was around. And then we turned it into a “date session” and had a lot of fun with it! I think that it is important for couples to remember why they fell in love in the first place and regular dating can rekindle those feelings. Calling a photographer you trust, getting a sitter, dressing up, laying out a romantic scene, and simply enjoying each other’s presence truly does turn it into a date! And then you have the added bonus of portraits to cherish forever.
Date sessions: perhaps you want to surprise your loved one with such an idea…
For Eric and I, it will be a date we will always remember. I am thankful for 13 years with my soul mate. God is so good to me.

A very special shout out to Todd Owens for capturing my sister’s big day. We just love the shots! It was hard for me to narrow down a preview for the post, but these are a few of my faves. And, yes, there were goats in the getaway vehicle. Love it.
